As we start off at Caleys Pavilion with the background road noise of Mona Vale Road, we will descend past the ponds and try to spot native frogs, including the Perrins tree frogs sunning themselves on the native reeds. Continuing on, we will pass through a high thicket of Allocasuarina littoralis (She-oaks), showing past bush fire activity. As we descend further into the walk, the modern world starts to recede, and we get to appreciate the beauty and serenity of the old world of Sydney sandstone ridges and valleys ( 220 million years).
